EUTOP: a success story since 1990

Dr Klemens Joos founded EUTOP in Munich in 1990 – before the establishment of the European Union and indeed two years before the Treaty of Maastricht was signed. Yet even back then Klemens Joos saw Europe as an economic and political unit with Brussels at its heart. In this belief, and drawing on his experience as personal assistant to an MEP from 1988 to 1990, he developed the basic concept for the EUTOP business and service provision model. EUTOP has now been successfully representing the interests of private businesses and organisations at the institutions of the European Union and its member states for over twenty years.

Dr Klemens Joos

Dr Klemens Joos studied business administration at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich from 1988 to 1992. On the completion of his studies, Klemens Joos went on to write his doctorate through the Faculty of Business Administration at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich in 1997. In his doctoral thesis he examined the economic and business determinants for representing the interests of companies at the level of the European Union. He developed a fundamental model based on an organisational science approach to effective and efficient representation of the interests of companies with the institutions of the EU. This work still forms the theoretical basis for the services EUTOP offers its clients: "Process-oriented Structural Governmental Relations (PSGR®)".

Klemens Joos is also the author and editor of numerous other publications on EU-related topics.

EUTOP International GmbH is based in Munich and Berlin. It has subsidiaries in Brussels and Vienna as well as representative offices in London, Paris, Beijing, Tokyo and New York.
